Padres Comprometidos

Padres Comprometidos (PC) is a parent engagement program that orients parents to postsecondary education and career pathways available to their students.

There are a number of systemic barriers that confront Latine parents and their students in the education system. PC supports parents and students navigating the education system through their experiences as immigrants, English Language Learners and first generation students achieving post-secondary education and career pathways.

Legal Rights

PC ensures parents are informed about their students’ legal rights to education and language access within the school system, and how to confront situations in which their legal rights are violated at school.

High School Graduation

PC equips parents with the knowledge they need to help their students navigate the high school system. We make sure they understand graduation requirements, high school diploma pathways, assessments and required exams.

Financial Aid and University Admission

PC orients parents to the process of university admissions, applying for financial aid, and seeking scholarships for students of any immigration status.
