From July 14 to July 17, 4 Puentes participants—Alejandra Barreto (Puentes Intern), Angela (Puentes Executive Director), Sara (Escalera Participant), and Tais (Escalera Participant)—had the honor of attending the 2024 UnidosUS Annual Conference at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 3-day conference was packed with opportunities to learn, connect, and collaborate. We had the opportunity to engage in workshops focused on building educational opportunities and creating healthier communities for Latinos. A major highlight was the Changemakers Breakfast on the first day, where Sara, Tais, and Alejandra connected with other passionate youth and young adults, and got the opportunity to hear from Latino leaders from TV, law enforcement, and the nonprofit sector. The energy and excitement at the UnidosUS Annual Conference, the largest gathering of Latinos and allies committed to social change, was truly empowering and we are looking forward to next year's conference!
